Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali for job reservation to J&K tribals in private sector

Pressing for boosting economy of tribal community of J&K State, Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution & Tribal Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has projected the demand of reservation for J&K Tribals in all sectors including private sector in India.Addressing galaxy of dignitaries viz Union Ministers, Governor, Speakers of various states, MPs and Legislators in a programme held by Forum of SC & ST Legislators & Parliamentarians of India at New Delhi, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali, who has also been nominated as National Executive Council Member of the body has projected the demand of J&K Tribals by stressing the need of reservation for the unemployed youth of community in all sectors including private and corporate sector in India. 

He said that there is dire need to boost the economic condition of tribals and this Association of Legislators and parliamentarians must focus on the issue by projecting the demand at National level.The Minister addressed the gathering in presence of Ram Vilas Paswan, Union Minister for Food & Public Distribution, Thavar Chand Gehlot Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment, Jual Oram, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Dripdi Mrormu, Governor of Jharkhand, Dr Charanjeet Singh Atwal Speaker Legislative Assembly Punjab, S. Hiphie Speaker Mizoram, Speaker Legislative Assembly Gujrat, Speaker Legislative AssemblyRajasthan, Faggan Singh Kulsaie Chairman SC/ST Comittee Lok Sabha, Dr PL Punia Chairman SC Commission, Vijay Sampla Union Minister of State for Social Justice, Sohan Singh Thandwal, Minister for Jail Punjab & Jetan Ram Manji, Former Chief Minister Bihar besides number of Member Parliaments.In his address, Chowdhary Zulfkar said that Jammu & Kashmir state is a border state having a very typical topography and the state is facing the circumstances, from last more than 20 years, which are not conducive for the overall development of the state in general and the SC’s/ST’s in particular comprising 25% population of the state.

He said that due to the limited resources being provided for the development of SC’s/ST’s in the state of J&K, the SC’s/ST’s of J&K are deprived of the basic facilities as being provided in many other states of the country. He added that the areas inhabited by the SC’s/ST’s in J&K are still without basic facilities like roads, safe drinking water, electricity and health care facilities etc.Minister said that the Forest Right Act has been implemented in whole of the country except J&K which need to be implemented in the state of J&K.He further suggested that there is a need for financial support from the National as well as International organizations for taking various welfare measures for the benefit of these down trodden sections of the societies.Minister added that National Act for prevention of atrocities on SC’s/ST’s needs to be made more powerful so that the desired results are achieved on ground.Zulfkar said that to compete with the modern era of competition, special programmes for the skill development of SC/ST youths throughout the country needs to be formulated and funded so that these communities can get their livelihood in a respected way.
