Dr Mahesh Sharma inaugurates “Bharat Parv”

The Minister of State for Culture , Tourism and Civil Aviation, Dr. Mahesh Sharma inaugurated the “Bharat Parv”  in New Delhi today. Bharat Parv is a celebration of Culture & Cuisine from different states of India being organized  from 3rd to 15th August 2015 in  Delhi as a part of Independence Day celebrations. Several programmes are being organised with large scale public participation to foster national integration. As part of these celebrations, the Ministry of Tourism is organizing the “Bharat Parv” comprising of State Centric Food Festivals along with cultural performances at prominent locations in Delhi in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Delhi Tourism, NDMC & several other  agencies.

Speaking on the occasion,  Dr. Mahesh Sharma  said that the India has a long history of Art and Culture which must be taken to various parts of the world. Dr Mahesh Sharma emphasized that tourism is high on priority of the government and the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has become the biggest ambassador to promote India across the globe. He said that the Prime Minister  has a dream to create a great Indian Image with the help of Art and Culture. The Minister said that the Tourism and Culture ministries are  making all efforts to making India the most popular tourism hub in the world.

The State Centric Food Festivals and cultural performances would be held at different locations from 3rd – 15th August, 2015 and would showcase folk dances and culinary traditions from different states of India.Food Stalls of different states would be set up to give the public an opportunity to experience the cuisine from different parts of the country. Artists from all over the country would be performing folk dances from different States including Birha Gayan, folk dance from Braj, Badhai, Gudum Baja dance, Bhawai, Terahtaali dance, Ghoomar, Panihari, Phag dance,  Bhangda etc.
