Shiromani Akali Dal leaders belonging to Majha region today welcomed the anti terrorism steps announced by  Shri Narendra Modi led NDA Government and said that Punjab would always support the centre's crusade against terrorism.SAD leaders of Majha region comprising Revenue Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia, Animal Husbandry Minister Gulzar Singh Ranike , Mr. Harmeet Singh Sandhu, Mr. Virsa Singh Valtoha and Mr. Amarpal Singh Boni,all CPS, Mr. Manjit Singh Manna and Mr. Baljit Singh Jalalusma (both MLAs), Mr. Vir Singh Lopoke and Mr. Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, Both Chairman District Planning Committees of Amritsar and Taran Taran, after a high level meeting held here today  jointly said that there was no place for terrorism in India. They underlined the need for effective sealing of International borders especially the 553 KM long Indo-Pak border adjoining Punjab. They said that the brave Punjabis had earlier also countered the terrorism with unparalleled bravery. 

Strongly condemning the terrorist attack in Dinanagar town of Gurdaspur district, the SAD leaders commended the bravery shown by Punjab Police DGP and his force by neutralizing the highly trained terrorists, who had come across from the border. On this occasion they also paid tributes to the SP Baljit Singh, three home guards and civilians who attained martyrdom during this attack.The Akali leaders said that Chief Minister Sardar Parkash Singh Badal has always given top priority to strengthen the communal harmony and shown the path to other counterparts. They said that people of Punjab would teach a life time lesson to all those anti national elements , who were hell bent on to disturb the hard earned peace in the country.They pointed out that the requirements and problems in border areas are different and needs to be given preferential treatment by giving a special economic package. They also demanded a special package for border area on behalf of Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal and urged to enhance the number of international flights from Amritsar International airport.
