CM Visits Gurudwara Sahib To Pay Obeisance

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, today visited the main Gurudwara, at Cart Road, to pay his obeisance to the founder of the Sikkhism Shri Guru Nanak Dev jee on his 544th birth anniversary, being celebrated as ‘Guru Parv’ all over the world and participated in the 'Shabad Kirtan’ organized to mark the celebration.Chief Minister greeted the members of the Sikh Community on the auspicious day and said that ‘Guru Parv’ symbolised universal peace, love and brotherhood.  He said that Guru Nanak Dev jee preached love, peace and communal harmony to strengthen the bond of universal brotherhood. He said that Guru Nanak Dev jee had been a great soul who founded the Sikkhism and showed society path of salvation by spreading the cult of devotion to God and compassion for the mankind.

Shri Virbhadra Singh said that in order to facilitate the students from minority communities, the State Government has decided to appoint 100 teachers each in Punjabi and Urdu in selected Government schools. He said that these teachers would be appointed on contract basis and their services would be regularized after completion of stipulated time. He said that in his earlier term as Chief Minister, his Government has decided to appoint Punjabi and Urdu teachers, but the previous BJP Government appointed only 74 Punjabi teachers and that too with out any proper provision. He said that his Government would consider converting the services of these teachers into contract.

Chief Minister was presented ‘Siropa’, photograph of Guru Nanak Dev jee and a Kripan by the President of the Shri Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Sardar Jasvinder Singh.Sardar Bhupinder Singh General Secretary, Gurudwara Singh Sabha welcomed the Chief Minister.Former Deputy Mayor Shri Harish Janartha, President Parachinar Sabha Shri Parmjit Singh, Vice President Singh Sabha Sardar Baljit Singh, Councilor Sardar Inderjit Singh, ADM Shimla Shri D.K.Rattan, and other distinguished people were present on the occasion.
