Vigilance Nabs Je Power Corporation Red Handed Accepting Bribe

Vigilance Bureau yesterday nabbed a Junior Engineer of Power State Transmission Corporation Limited red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 4000.

Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that JE Prem Chand posted at Sri Mukatsar Sahib was nabbed on the complaint of Baljinder Singh of village Shergarh Gyan Singh Wala district Sri Mukatsar Sahib. The complainant has alleged that the JE was demanding a bribe of Rs. 15,000 for releasing  cheque of compensation amounting to Rs.16,850 in lieu of  damaged caused to the trees on his land which comes under the high intensity power line laid by the department from Sri Mukatsar Sahib to Abohar. JE consented to take bribe in installments and the first installment amounting to Rs. 4000 was to be given to him on July 29.Acting on the tip off, team of Vigilance Bureau laid a trap and the Junior Engineer Prem Chand was nabbed red handed while accepting the bribe.
