DDC reviews education sector in Ganderbal

Stressing upon streamlining Educator Sector in the district, District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today asked concerned authorities to streamline the Education Sector in the district.The District Development Commissioner said this while reviewing Education sector in a meeting of officers held at Ganderbal.Discussion regarding scholarship status, rationalization of schools, academic inspections, RMSA and SSA was held in the meeting. It was given out in the meeting that so far 266 teachers have been posted in schools with lesser Pupil Teacher Ratio under rationalization of staff in schools.The meeting was also informed that under RMSA, nine School buildings have been completed and work on remaining four is under progress. The meeting came to know that 60 schools in the district are still without drinking water facility.Chief Education Officer Ganderbal informed the meeting that site for construction of Kendriya Vidyalaya School has been identified at Dignibal. The District Development Commissioner instructed for providing of drinking water facilities to left over schools at an earliest.

The District Development Commissioner directed the Superintending Engineer R&B to speed up the construction of left over school buildings under RMSA so that school going children do not face any kind of difficulty which is the main motive behind the centrally sponsored schemes. Superintending Engineer R&B was also directed to expedite the work on construction of Conference Hall at Boys High School Ganderbal. Social Welfare and Education departments were directed to finalize the list of deserving students in need of scholarships so that the same can be provided to them on priority. Superintending Engineer R&B, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE, Chief Planning Officer Ganderbal, Chief Education Officer Ganderbal, District Social Welfare Officer Ganderbal, Principal DIET Ganderbal and all Zonal Education Officers of the district were present in meeting.
