DC Jammu reviews Independence Day arrangements

District Development Commissioner, Jammu, Simrandeep Singh today chaired a meeting of officers to review the arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations.Among others the meeting was attended by ADDC Jammu, Anuradha Gupta, ADC Jammu, Rifat Kohli, ACG Shehnaz Akhter, and other senior officers of various departments.The DDC directed the R&B, Police, Traffic, Education, Revenue, Municipality, Health, Police, Traffic, Security, PHE, PDD, Youth Services & Sports authorities to monitor the preparedness, arrangements with regard to seating arrangements, barricading, invitation of guests, refreshment to school children, transport, electricity, drinking water, security, march past, medicare, face-lifting and cultural items, so that necessary arrangements are put in place well in time.

While discussing the participation of school children in the March Past and cultural items, the DDC directed CEO and DYSSO to ensure participation of private schools also. Regarding face lifting of the Mini stadium the concerned officer informed that the work is going in full swing and will be completed in time.The Fire Services department was asked to ensure availability of sufficient number of fire tenders to meet any eventuality. The Municipal authorities were directed to ensure cleanliness in Jammu city especially in and around the Mini Stadium Parade. Similarly the Police and Traffic departments were asked to make security and traffic arrangements for the convenience of the general public.
