Panic gripped at Yousmarag tourist resort after the two PHE employees tried to assault a married woman sexually. The hue and cry raised by the woman forced the crooka to flee from the spot.  The married woman (name withheld), a resident of Doodhkhut Yusmarag in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district told CNS that two PHE employees Rasikh Ahmed Dar, a resident of Nagbal and Muzaffar Ahmed of Rohmu Budgam forcibly entered into her room at around 9:30 on Wednesday night when she was alone in the house. “The duo tried to assault me sexually and when I raised hue and cry they fled from the spot,” she said adding that both Muzaffar and Rasikh work in PHE department.

She said that the attackers were three in number. “Two of them entered into my room and it was Rasik Dar son of Rahim Dar, also my relative, who tried to molest me. The duo tried to grab me. They told me to come along with them at the PHE hut where I will be given money and will also be allowed to take grass for the cattle. When people chased them and cornered them near PHE hut, they apologized and sought forgiveness with folded hands,” she said adding that the one of their officers on Thursday morning assured people of strict action against the duo for their devilish act.Describing the rumours that son of PDP Minister Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjur was accompanying the duo as baseless, the victims said that, “No, it is not true. No son of any political leader or any armed man is involved in the act. The third one waiting outside may also be working in the same department because during day hours I saw them roaming in the area,” the victim told CNS adding that she has not registered a police case against the accused as the department has assured swift action against these employees.

The mother-in-law of the victim castigated the reports that son of Agriculture Minister Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura was present on the spot. “The crook Rasikh Dar is a debauch. He is our close relative and always harasses my daughter-in-law on the one or the other pretext. The two persons accompanying Rasikh Dar were his friends and both work in PHE department. We could have approached police, but due to blood relation we didn’t register any case,” the ‘furious’ elderly woman told CNS. Assistant Executive Engineer Ghulam Rasool Leharwal told CNS that if proven strict action will be initiated against these employees. “Rasikh Dar is a daily-rated worker while Muzafar is a permanent employee. I have already received few complaints that Muzafar does not do his duty honestly and we have decided to initiate strict action against them,” he said.Meanwhile, Advocate Muzafar Nabi Lone, the son of Agriculture Minister said that some of their opponents are hell bent to tarnish the image of his father and Lone family given the fact his father is a Minister and affiliated with People’s Democratic Party. “Just talk to the people of the locality and to the victim, you will get a clear picture. Everything attributed to us is baseless and a rumour spread by our opponents elements,” he said.  (CNS)
