Socio-economic dev. of people govt’s priority: Sakina

Asks officers to work with honesty, dedication and coordination to ensure better services, redressal of public issues

Saying that the coalition government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has launched welfare and developmental schemes for the equitable development of all three regions of State with extra focus on hitherto neglected and far flung areas of the State, Minister for Social Welfare and ARI Trainings, Ms. Sakina Itoo said that present government has introduced many revolutionary acts and laws including Panchayat Raj Act, Public Services Guarantee Act and  Right to Information Act through which administrative powers have been decentralised and people have been  empowered to become active participant of democratic set up besides ensuring transparency and better governance in the State.This was stated by the Minister while addressing a large gathering of people and public representatives at village Dandwara of Noorabad Constituency in district Kulgam during her Constituency tour here on Thursday.

She said Govt led by Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah numerous developmental projects have been completed across the State which are yielding fruitful results and people have benefitted at large by the implementation of these projects. She said various other projects in various sectors including PHE, Power, Education and Healthcare are underway across the State and will be completed soon.

The people of the area appreciated the efforts made by the Minister in the development of the area. They said that lot has been done and more efforts need to be made for the upliftment and betterment of the people of the area.On the occasion, various deputations called on the Minister who put forth their collective and inpidual problems and demands. The Minister gave patient hearing to all the deputationists and assured them that all genuine demands will be fulfilled in phased manner.Ms. Sakina also took stock of several developmental works being executed in the various areas of the Constituency. She directed the concerned officers to expedite all the projects in time bound manner. She enjoined upon them to work with honesty, dedication and coordination to ensure better services and redressal of public issues. On the occasion, the Minister distributed cheques to the tune of Rs. 23 lakhs among the affected families whose property was damaged in recent windstorm. Ms. Itoo also announces Rs. 2 lakhs from here Constituency Development Fund for the repairs and renovation of Ziyarat Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Wali (RA) Wali Noor Gulzarabad.The Minister was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Gulzar Shabnam and other concerned district officers.
