Govt ensured sustained development, peace: Sagar

Maintaining that the government has registered phenomenal developmental activities for ensuring sustained development of the state in every sphere of life, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar has said that the certain forces are in a state of frustration and trying best to create misgivings in the minds of the people and negate the achievements registered by the present government.The Minister was addressing a huge gathering after laying of foundation of a Sarai and Lavatory complex for the devotees coming to pay obeisance to the revered shrine of Baba Shakur-ud-Din Sahib (RA) at Sopore today.The complex would be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs. 43 lakh. MLA Sopore Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Ganai, Director Rural Development Kashmir, Mir Altaf Ahmad, Additional District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, Mr. Mukhtar Aziz and senior officers of different departments were present.

Sagar said that it was due to the efforts of the present government that the peace has been sustained which is a pre-requisite for undertaking the developmental activities. “It is a recorded fact that it was due to the tireless efforts put in by us that the peace was restored and now the people are reaping the peace pidends and the pace of developmental activities has been speeded up”, he added.

The Minister said that the government has introduced several schemes which have been instrumental in uplifting the socio-economic profile of the people besides providing ample opportunities of employment to the people and the youth in particular. He said that special and focussed attention is being given to ensure that the problem of unemployment is addressed by implementing the programmes like UMEED, Himayat, Udaan, SKEWPY etc. by which the youth can be provided the avenues of setting up of their own entrepreneurial units.Mr. Sagar said that certain parties who have got frustrated by the achievements registered by the present government are trying to spread lies to mislead the people. ‘’The people are aware of the work done by the Government and would give a befitting reply to these in near future’’, he maintained.While referring to the universal messages of Islam, the Minister asked the people to follow the teachings as they are replete with the concept of brotherhood, peace and mutual co-existence. He said that these teachings have become more relevant in the present days and we should religiously follow them.
