Jora reviews pace of work on Fruit Mandi Office Complex, Leisure Park

Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies Nawang Rigzin Jora today conducted tour of Jammu city and took stock of the pace of progress on various developmental projects being executed under Urban Development sector.During the tour, the Minister visited Fruit Market, Jammu and took stock of pace of construction work on office complex (0B-8) there, under execution by the Jammu Development Authority. He directed the concerned for accelerating the pace of construction work ensuring timely completion of the project. “Early completion and leasing-out the project would improve the financial health of the Authority”, he maintained.The 4-storey project spread over 16 kanals of land, having 26221 square feet built-in area is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 5.84 crore.

The Minister was apprised that out of the total project cost, an amount of Rs. 2.5 crore has been expended so far. He was informed that the work on the complex is going-on in full swing and is expected to be completed by May 2014.The Minister also inspected the available space in front of the complex at Fruit Mandi and directed the concerned for lifting the construction debris from the site, making it suitable as parking spot. He also directed for landscaping of the office premises to give it a proper ambience.  Later, Mr. Jora also inspected the leisure park being developed between Main and internal road at Fruit Mandi and took stock of the progress of work.Among others, Vice Chairman, Jammu Development Authority (JDA), Kuldeep Khajuria, Superintending Engineer, JDA Er. P L Bhushan and other senior officers of the concerned departments accompanied the Minister.
