Govt.M.A.M College Launches The Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Rolling Trophy

The final round of the Inter-Collegiate Symposium was organized by the IQAC of the College to commemorate National Education Day Celebrations and to launch the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Rolling Trophy. This event was a sequel to the Preliminary round which was held on 26th October, 2013 in which 35 colleges participated and 15 speakers were selected for the final round which was held in the college on 11th November, 2013.Jb.Mohd. Akbar Lone Hon’ble Minister for Higher Education was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The programme started with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the  Chief Guest and other prominent guests. It was a momentous occasion for the college to have a sketched photograph of Jb.Maulana Abul Kalam Azad unveiled by the Hon’ble Minister for Higher Education. Subsequently, the college magazine ‘Trikuta’ was released by the dignitaries.

Prof.(Dr.) Ramesh Chander, Principal of the College welcomed the guests and reiterated that students should imbibe the virtues propagated by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and that they should follow his footsteps so as to achieve success in life. He also appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee and the IQAC for their strenuous efforts in making the function a success. Jb.Mohd. Akbar Lone Hon’ble Minister for Higher Education emphasized the role of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad in National Development and encouraged the growth of Science and Technology at all levels of education. He added that education has a definite role to play in promoting world unity and global citizenship and Azad being a strong believer in democracy believed that education should be democratized. Prof.T.A.Kawoos, Director Colleges was also present on the occasion. Prof.Deepsheekha Kotwal, Director, Centre for Women Studies, University of Jammu, Prof.Zahoor-ud-Din, Former Registrar, University of Jammu and Mr.Pradeep Dutta, Bureau Chief, Times Now, J&K Chapter were the jury members for the contest.Dr.Twinkle Suri, Coordinator IQAC gave the profile of IQAC and its role in up-gradation of education at all levels for the overall development of the institution.The function was graced by various Principals and eminent academicians from Higher Education. Dr.Avinash Gupta, President CTA was also present on the occasion.Ghulam Mustafa, GDC Poonch, Kumarjit Chajgotra, GDC Hiranagar, Shivangi Sharma, GDC Prade Secured 1st, 2nd, 3rd prizes respectively and the Rolling Trophy was lifted by GDC Poonch.The programme was anchored by Prof.Banpreet Kour and Prof.M.K.Mussa and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr.Twinkle Suri.
