Shahnaz chairs Assurance Committee meeting

A meeting of Assurance Committee was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Shahnaz Ganai to discuss the action taken reports of Health and Medical Education Department.The meeting was attended by the members of the committee Gh Nabi Monga, Sofi Mohammad Yousuf, Kursheed Alam and Ali Mohammad Dar. Threadbare discussion was held on different issues of the Health Department especially shortage of medical and para-medical staff in NRHM, up-gradation and creation of new sub centres in Kashmir and Jammu divisions, delay in the appointment of medical and para-medical staff in the State and functioning of sub-centres in district Budgam.

The committee directed concerned officers to provide adequate medical and para medical staff in NHM and provide accurate details about the up-gradation and creation of new sub centre in the State. The Committee also instructed Director Health Services Kashmir to visit district Budgam and provide medical and para-staff to the non-functional sub centres of district Budgam.In the meeting Director General, Indian System of Medicines (ISM) gave detailed presentation about the functioning, achievements and development of ISM in the State.The Drug Controller also gave a brief presentation about the organization and drug trafficking. Later, Dr. Shahnaz advised all the officers and other functionaries of the Health Department to work with dedication and sincerity. She also asked concerned officers to be ready with all relevant details before the next committee meeting.
