Three men have been arrested for allegedly killing their two friends on June 7 in north Delhi's Samaypur Badli village, police said here on Sunday. The accused have been identified as Sachin Dabas, 19, a resident of Mangolpur Kalan area in north-west Delhi; Shahrukh Ali, 20, a resident of Vijay Vihar area in west Delhi; and Deepak Sethi, 20, resident of Rohini area in west Delhi.According to police, on June 9, the bodies of Yash Nanded (20) and Prince Dixit (21) were fished out from Yamuna river at Wazirabad. On June 8, the parents of the drowned men had filed complaints alleging foul play and said they suspected Ali, Dabas and Sethi for the unnatural death of their sons, police said.

Police said during investigation it was revealed that Nandal, Dixit and accused Ali and Dabas were close friends. Ali had taken a franchisee of Just Dial Company in 2014 after taking financial help from Nanded. The business, however, could not click and was later closed down by him.Yash, along with his friend Dixit, started pressurising Ali for the money which annoyed him very much. He hatched a plan with another friend, Dabas, to kill both Nanded and Dixit, police said."On June 7, all the friends planned to reconcile, drink and take a bath in Munak Canal together. During drinking, Shahrukh and Sachin included Deepak Sethi in their plan to eliminate Yash (Nanded) and Prince (Dixit)," Joint Commissioner of Police Ravindra Yadav said.

"As such, they induced Yash and Prince to drink more and themselves consumed less alcohol. After this, they threw Prince into the canal but while falling, he caught Shahrukh's leg and both fell into the canal," he said."Soon all of them jumped in the canal and the trio - Shahrukh, Sachin and Deepak - started beating Yash and Prince with stones. Within a short time, both of them died," he added."After committing the murders, all the three accused hid Yash's mobile phone and made up a false story of the two having drowned while concealing the real facts from the police. They also tried to destroy the evidence," police said.Ali is pursuing Bachelors of Arts degree from Vinayak Mission University in Himachal Pradesh while Dabas and Sethi are studying for B.A. degree from Delhi University.
