Faced with a situation of his announcements not being implemented, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday directed administrative secretaries to give priority to projects announced by him.The chief minister told the officers to follow up on his announcements and ensure that these were completed in a time bound manner.Khattar, a first-time legislator who was chosen by the BJP ahead of other experienced Haryana leaders to head the party's first government in the state, called the meeting of the administrative secretaries of all departments to review the progress of projects announced by him in the past nine months.

"The announcements that were pending up to January 2015 were taken up for review in today's (Friday) meeting. The chief minister's announcements pertaining to departments of irrigation, power, public health, engineering and Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board have almost been completed," a government spokesman said here.Khattar said after taking over the reigns of the state administration on October 26, he had made 763 announcements as per the demands and requirements of various areas."Expressing concern over the pendency of 47 announcements as on December 31, he directed the administrative secretaries that work on the chief minister's announcements should commence immediately so as to ensure their early execution," the spokesman said.

Khattar told the officials that in case any announcement was to be transferred from one department to another, the file should be sent to the Chief Minister's Office for action. There was a general feeling in the Haryana government that since the chief minister and some other ministers were new to governance, officers were not taking their directions seriously.
