DC reviews preparations for launching CGM under SBM

To review the preparation for launching of Clean & Green Mission (CGM) under Swach Bharat Mission (SBM), District Development Commissioner Kathua Ajay Singh Jamwal today convened a meeting of district officers.ADDC Kathua, ACD, CEO, DPO, DFO, CEO Municipality, XEN REW, BDO’s and other district officers attended the meeting.Threadbare discussions were held in the meeting on the preparedness for the launch of CGM on the theme of “My Village My World” to be started on 28 July.DDC passed directions to ACD and BDOs to launch the CGM Programmes at village panchayats and block levels. ACD briefed that 244 Gram Sabhas will be held on 28th July where mass pledge will be held regarding Clean and Green Mission and also to make panchayats clean, green and open defecation (OD) free. CEO was directed to ensure maximum participations of students, pledge should be administered in the assembly and they should be made aware about CGM.

DDC Kathua stressed upon maximum participation by each department and public to make CGM a great success. He said every individual should be sensitized to participate in the cleanliness drive regarding ban on use of polythene so to make rural areas pollution free, open defecation free and green environment i.e. afforestation with emphasis on behavioral improvement.It was also highlighted in the meeting that CGM will be launched at district, sub division, block and panchayat level. The ADDC Kathua Manmohan Singh will be the Nodal officer for the launch of CGM under SBM.
