Pace of developmental projects reviewed at Anantnag

District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Khan today chaired a meeting of concerned officers and took a detailed review of the ongoing developmental works including Chief Ministers commitments made during recent visit of Anantnag and Pahalgam.A detailed account of taken up developmental works in the District was presented in the meeting by the concerned officers/Engineers which include Bumzoo Water Supply Scheme, Macadamization of Roads, Construction of School and Health Institutions, repairments of protection bunds, dredging of rivers, construction of new bridges and diversions.District Development Commissioner urged upon the concerned to gear up their men and machinery for intensifying the pace of work on these projects so that set targets are fulfilled before stipulated time.

The progress of commitments made by Chief Minister was also discussed threadbare during the meeting. It was given out in the meeting that the work on renovation of Auditorium Hall at Government Degree College Anantnag is near completion and installation of Electric utilities at Polytechnic College will also be completed in coming days. J&K Bank has also taken up the renovation work of Sher-Bagh besides the cause way of “Vandlana” park at Aru Pahalgam along with establishment of a cafeteria inside it. The progress of installation of Electric transformers in demarcated Industrial Complex Vessu was also reviewed. The commitments made with regard to wildlife, Model Higher Secondary School, Horticulture, Tourism, Floriculture, Youth Services & Sports were also discussed and District Development Commissioner was apprised with the action taken reports in this regard.

District Development Commissioner directed all the officers to speed up the work on these projects and submit action taken reports fortnightly. He urged them to work honestly and transparently so that the projects are completed within the stipulated time. Among others, Superintending Engineer PDD, Assistant Commissioner Development, General Manager District Industries Centre, Chief Education Officer, Chief Executive Officer Pahalgam Development Authority, All SDMs, Officers of Horticulture, Bank, Fisheries and Wildlife attended the meeting.
