To drive home its contention that the Narendra Modi government was creating obstacles in its functioning, the Delhi government has once again taken to the advertisement route.The Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi has installed hoardings on roadsides in teh city, asking Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to intervene in its functioning."Pradhanmantri sir, please! Delhi sarkar ko kam karne dijiye. Dilli sarkar theek kam kar rahi hai. (Prime Minister sir, please let the Delhi government work. The Delhi government is working fine)," say the newly installed hoardings in the capital.Unlike television advertorials which obliquely show the Modi government and other opposition parties throwing a spanner in the works of the Delhi government, the new print ad has directly taken on Modi.The Congress slammed the chief minister for frittering away public money on advertisements.

"The sad thing is that (chief minister Arvind) Kejriwal ji is using public money for such posters. He is using taxpayers' money to brighten his political prospects. This is not right," Delhi Congress leader Ajay Maken said.The Delhi government has drawn flak from the opposition parties for splurging money on advertisements. In its maiden budget presented last month, the Delhi government earmarked Rs.520 crore for advertorials. The allocation last fiscal was Rs.20 crore.The new advertorial comes amid the heightened tensions between the Aam Aadmi Party government and Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung over the appointment of new chief of the Delhi Commission for Women.
