Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura visits Industrial Growth Centre Lassipora

Calls for establishing Cold Storage chain in North Kashmir

Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today visited Industrial Growth Centre (IGC) Lassipora, Pulwama and inspected different Cold Storage Chains including Kashmir Premium Apples Limited, HN Agriserve Private Limited and I-Fresh Kehwah Square Private Limited established by the different private players.The representatives of these companies briefed the Minister through power point presentation about their activities. The Minister stressed upon these companies to establish such units in other parts of the valley especially in North Kashmir so that fresh and quality fruits will be exported to other parts of the country adding that it will help in boosting the economy of the farmers and fruit growers.  He said fruit industry is the back bone of our State and establishing cold storage chains in other parts of the State will help enhance the economic condition of the people.

The Minister also stressed for adopting modern and latest technologies for cold storage of fruits and vegetables.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Government is committed to provide every possible help to the farmers and fruit growers. He said Agriculture and Horticulture sectors are important tools for our economic and boosting of these sectors special focus is being provided by the Coalition government headed by Chief Minister.Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Mr. Neeraj Kumar Gupta, Director Agriculture Kashmir, Mr. Mohammad Harun, Director Horticulture, Managing Director, Horticulture and Produce Marketing and other officers of agriculture and horticulture and revenue departments accompanied with Minister during his visit.
