Chairperson, J&K State Social welfare Board, Dr. Nirmal Gupta today launched skill development programme for unemployed educated poor girls at Miskeen bagh Srinagar. Identified poor girls are to be provided six months skill development training under Project HIMAYAT by Project Implementation Agencies.Speaking on the Occasion, Dr. Gupta said that the Board is working for the welfare, upliftment and empowerment of women especially for poor people living in far-flung and urban areas. She urged the trainees to take full benefit of the training so that they become employable and can earn their livelihood and would not be dependent on anyone. She informed that twenty girls from economically weaker families of Srinagar would be imparted training and other similar batches would be trained at Qaimoh, Kulgam.She said that the girls will be imparted basic training regarding use of computers and will be provided specialized training in such trades which they have interest.
