Vakil, Charak, Aziz suspended from Congress’s basic membership Indiscipline wont be tolerated: G A Mir

Congress’s Central Disciplinary Committee has suspended three state Congress members from the party’s basic membership.Confirming the development, State Congress Chief GA Mir told KNS that indiscipline within party ranks can’t be tolerated at any level and said that three former ministers and senior Congress leaders including Abdul Gani Vakil, Gulchain Singh Charak and Prem Sagar Aziz were suspended from party’s basic membership by Central Disciplinary Committee on the recommendation of state disciplinary committee.About Vakil, Mir said from past 40 years he has always been found involved in acts of indiscipline and issuing statements against state party chiefs was his favourite pass time, “which has caused great damage to Congress party in the state”. 

He said Vakil was given party mandate seven times, but couldn’t win a single time. “Despite that he was made a Legislative Council member and made a cabinet minister. Still he didn’t mend his ways and continued his anti-party works and utterances,” he said.Mir added that party’s Central Disciplinary Committee while taking strong note of the recommendations of state congress unit has decided to suspend the three from basic membership of the party. Congress’s Central Disciplinary Committee, as per Mir, compromises of senior Congress leaders and former minister in UPA government AK Antony and Ghulam Nabi Azad besides senior leader Moti Lal Vohra.Mir said Vakil has not only challenged the decisions of state Congress chief but also of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
