Condemns police action against protest march by DPM

Strongly condemning the excessive force of force against the peaceful demonstrators of Democratic Political Movement (DPM) who were demanding releasing of all the political prisoners before the Eid and the release of dozens of its activists including its chairman Firdous Ahmad Shah and General secretary Advocate Mohammad Shafi Reshi, Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani said the government has completely banned the peaceful political activities of the pro-freedom people and they are not being allowed anywhere to protest in a democratic way.In a statement issued to KNS, the Hurriyat (G) chairman termed DPM as an important constituent of Hurriyat Conference and said the Hurriyat faction was taking a protest march from Abi Guzar to UN office in Sonawar to present a memorandum about continous detention of political prisoners but the excessive use of force against them was highly condemnable.
