BJP committed for removal of refugee tag : Khanna

The entire leadership of BJP reached R.S Pura to take part in the massive public rally organized on the concluding day of its "Refugee Adhikaar Yatra" on Friday. It was organized by R.S. Pura District President Sat Pal Pappi.BJP Member of Parliament & J&K Prabhari Avinash Rai Khanna, while congratulating the state team for successful conduct of the yatra, said that J&K is the only state in the country where more than 12 lakh people are living with the tag of refugees in independent India. He said that calling them refugee is a curse and the BJP will work to get it removed and ensure that the refugees who have been agitating for the last over six decades are granted all the rights which are being enjoyed by other citizens of the country and they too live a dignified life. State President Jugal Kishore Sharma reiterating party’s commitment for the cause of refugees, said that we are born for the social service and whenever there is discrimination, neglect, injustice or atrocities, the BJP activists have always been on forefront and our fight for refugees and border people will continue inside the state assembly as well as on roads. Leader of BJP Legislature Party Ashok Khajuria while elaborating on the need to take out this yatra, said that the refugees need to be educated about the dual speak of NC and Congress leaders, who advocate that refugees should get rights but don’t explain as to who will grant these rights when both these parties are in the government. He said that the people have made up their mind to teach NC and Congress a lesson for giving false slogans and promises.

 National Executive Member Shamsher Singh Manhas said that refugees in J&K have always been ignored and they could not even become an MLA while those who settled in other states even became Prime Minister, Dy. Prime Minister and assumed many other highest positions. He said that false promises of giving plots, compensation and other packages are made by Congress and NC but on ground the plights of the refugees and border people are worst. State General Secretary & Yatra Incharge Rajiv Jasrotia briefed in detail the ground realities prevailing in the areas where refugee people have been putting adding that the yatra has been successful in its motive of highlighting the problems of refugees. Suchetgarh MLA Sham Choudhary said that his constituency houses the population of border people as well as refugees and they all have been left at the care of God. He said that they are subjected to gross discrimination and injustice despite the fact that they too deserve the same treatment as is meted to other citizens.Refugee leader Ved Prakash Sharma, on this occasion, regretted that after the partition of the country till today lakhs of refugee people have not been treatment as human beings and the future of their young generations is also in dark.

Distt. President Sat Pal Pappi expressed concern over inordinate delay in issuing caste certificates to the people on the pretext of producing irrelevant documents.Distt. General Secretary Capt.
