Abdul Haq reviews RSETI implementation

Emphasizes on skill, entrepreneur development trainings

To review and discuss the issues related to the identification /transfer of land to the Rural Development Department for setting up of Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs) in all the districts of the State, a high level meeting was convened under the chairmanship of the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr Abdul Haq here today.

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr Asgar Samoon, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr Pawan Kotwal, Secretary Rural RDD&PR, Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Shah, representative of Financial Commissioner, Joint Director Planning RDD, Directors of Rural Development Kashmir and Jammu, besides the representatives of J&K bank and State Bank of India were present in the meeting.The meeting deliberated upon various issues and matters pertaining to the setting up of Rural Self Employment Training Institutes aimed to provide free skill development and entrepreneur development training to the unemployed youth to make them self-employed and provide them opportunities to earn their livelihood with dignity and honour.The Minister was informed by the Divisional commissioner Jammu that land for setting up of the RSETI has been identified in all the districts of the Jammu division and process of transferring land to RD department is underway.

The Minister directed all the concerned to speed up the pace of land identification/transfer process so that construction work is started at an earliest Abdul Haq asked the officers to submit the type design of the institutes by 24 of July and directed for constituting Committee comprising joint involvement of Rural Development Department and Bankers so that whole process revolves by intervention of RDD. He also directed that and be  constructions of such institutions should be done by Rural Development Department and type design of these institutes should suffice the need for next 100 years He also said that one officer from banks would be authorized to check and monitor the quality of the work.The Minister also instructed that trainees would be identified by the RDD as it has better knowledge at ground level, besides banks and societies should have members from Rural Development Department.
