Process to augment power infrastructure initiated: Dr. Nirmal Singh

Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh Wednesday said that the Government has already initiated the process to augment the power infrastructure and in this regard several measures stand already taken.Dr. Singh was interacting with the deputation of the Small Scale Industrial Units (SSIUs) of the State engaged in the manufacture of the electric transformers and other related things associated with them.Minister for Finance, Labour Employment and Culture, Dr. Haseeb A. Drabu, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr. Chander Prakash Ganga, Principal Secretary Power, Mr. Sandeep Naik, Chief Engineer of PDD and other senior officers were present in the meeting.

Dr. Singh assured the deputation that their genuine demands would be looked into and redressed. He also asked them that they should also contribute their bit in ensuring that the power infrastructure is augmented properly by adding quality infrastructural capacities to it.The Deputy Chief Minister said that the Government is committed to resolve issues related to the power sector and the necessary mechanism has already been put in place.Dr. Singh further assured the deputationists that under the new procurement policy, their interests would be safeguarded and Government is committed to strengthen the industry in the State and in this regard a new industrial policy is in offing.

The Finance Minister, Dr. Haseeb A Drabu while interacting with the industrialists assured them that their problems would be looked into judiciously and asked them to ensure that they provide quality material as well as maintenance service to the Power Department. He also asked them to upgrade their products to match national and international standards.The Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr. Chander Prakash Ganga also spoke on the occasion and said that the Government has already undertaken measures so that the Industrial Sector in the State gets the much required fillip and more entrepreneur units come up which can go a long way in providing job opportunity and also contribute in economy of the State.
