Ahead of possible meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharief, The Ruling People’s Democratic Party and the main opposition party National Conference on Tuesday were on the same page, asking Prime Minister to restart the dialogue process with Pakistan in finding a lasting solution to the Kashmir issue.Talking to Kashmir News Service PDP’s senior leader and Member Parliament Tariq Hamid Qara said, “It is a golden opportunity for both the Prime Ministers to solve all the vexed problems. They should not miss it and should show some political maturity. Both the countries should rise above the regional politics and should take the Kashmir issue to the logical conclusion,”

He said that People of Jammu and Kashmir have high stakes in peace because they are the worst sufferers of hostility between the two neighbouring countries. “Kashmir issue has become an election winning slogan. Millions of the people here hope that both the countries will find some solution to the Kashmir. I wish wisdom and good sense should prevail on them so that some good solution could be found,” Kara told KNS.

Joining the course National Conference senior leader and its General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar told KNS that friendly relationship between India and Pakistan is a must for lasting peace and sustained development in the sub-continent and especially in Jammu and Kashmir. “NC’s stand is clear that Kashmir is an issue which needs to be resolved. The most important thing is that both the countries India and Pakistan should shun the rigidness and should start the meaningful dialogue.Meanwhile NC’s Provisional president Nasir Aslam Wani told KNS that there is a need to revive the peace process. “Peace process needs to be revived and it is high time for both the Prime Ministers to revive the peace process,”.

Nasir added that both the countries India and Pakistan should forward the peace process which was initiated by the former Prime Minister Vajpayee. (KNS)
