Digital India Week celebrated at Pulwama

As part of the Digital India Week, a mega function was organized by District Administration, Pulwama in collaboration with NIC district Pulwama.Additional District Development Commissioner, Mr. Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza inaugurated the function which was attended by various District and Sectoral officers, besides College Principals.The chair while reviewing the programme highlighted the importance of promoting e- governance saying that Government is committed to provide all the basic services to the citizens online, anywhere, any time with the help of information technology tools.  This will not only make the Government efficient but will also help lead towards attaining a knowledge driven society besides bringing in efficiency in service delivery and elimination of corruption.

The chair stressed upon the officers to inculcate IT culture in their offices and utilize available resources to bring in the change.The District Informatics Officers, Mr. Basharat Shafi gave a detailed presentation about the objectives of the Digital India Programme and highlighted the use and applications of various newly launched e-services like, digital locker, e-Basta, e-Sign, My Gov. Portal, NSAP and those services that were already operational and available in the district like death and birth registration, Online Building Permission, online vehicle registration, issuance of computerized licenses. The district portal http://pulwama.gov.in was also presented as a one stop source of information about the district. The e-District Project, which is in offing, was also presented before the officers. It was observed the NADRS programme is operational in all the blocks of the Animal Husbandry Department and provides a promising solution to make the working of Animal Husbandry Department paperless.Assistant Commissioner Pulwama, Mr Sajad Qadri, later impressed upon all the officers to educate and engage people about the services currently being provided by the department and deliberate on future enhancements, deliberate on advantages of e-services etc.  At the end of the session, a Question/Answer session was held among the speakers about the subject.Later, the Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Mr. Niraj Kumar inaugurated a camp organized for ADHAAR and digital-locker enrolment/registration for the participants.
