Div Com visits Batmaloo General Bus Stand, Noor Bagh Parimpora

Visits Historical Jamia Masjid, takes stock of renovation and expansion programme

In connection with transfer of bus terminal, Batmaloo to Parimpora, the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone and a team of officers carried out an extensive tour of General Bus Stand, Batmaloo and convened a meeting of representatives of private Bus Operator there. He was informed that only 100 buses are being stationed at General Bus Stand, Batmaloo at night. He told the Bus Operators that the transfer of Bus Stand to Parimpora would help in minimizing traffic jams.

The Divisional Commissioner visited Noor Bagh and took stock of construction work on new Noor Jahan Bridge for which Rs. 9.27 crore are being utilized. He directed the authorities to speed up the work so as to complete it within the stipulated time.The Divisional Commissioner also visited the newly proposed Bus terminal at Parimpora and took stock of drainage and renovation work of the Bus terminal. Earlier, the Divisional Commissioner convened a meeting of officers and reviewed the arrangements being done for the proposed bus terminal at Parimpora.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Commissioner SMC and Engineers of various allied departments.Meanwhile, for maintaining of historical glory of Srinagar Jamia Masjid, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon accompanied by a team of senior officers including Deputy Commissioner Srinagar visited Jamia Masjid, Srinagar and took stock of ongoing construction works. He was informed that as many as 5 works have been taken up by the Tourism department for which Rs. 4.92 crore are being utilised for maintaining the glory of historical Jamia Masjid. He also reviewed the expansion of Jamia Masjid and convened a meeting of members Auqaf Committee for the purpose.The Divisional Commissioner on this occasion directed the authorities to provide better drinking water facilities and basic amenities around the Jamia Masjid area.
