DDC Samba convenes public grievances camp

District Development Commissioner, R. K. Varma on Tuesday conducted an extensive tour of village Mohar Garh of Samba District to take stock of grievances of the people besides reviewing status of ongoing development works in the area.The DDC was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Development Samba, CPO Samba, Executive Engineer, PWD, PHE, and PDD, DSWO, Chief Horticulture Officer, Block Development Officer Samba, AD Food Supply and heads of various department.The people in large number including Sarpanchs and Panchs participated in the camp and projected their demands and problems pertaining to repairing of roads/road connectivity to adjoining areas,  availability of drinking water, regular supply of electricity, preservation of old Mohargarh Fort and steps to be taken to increase tourist potential in the area etc.The DDC listened to the demands and problems being faced by the people patiently and assured them that all their issues would be redressed in a time bound manner. He instructed all the heads of the departments to work with missionary zeal and dedication for resolving the issues of people leaving no space for complains.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC said the motive behind holding such camps was to have firsthand knowledge about the problems of the people so that needful can be done to mitigate their sufferings.He called upon Panchayat representatives to play their role in making people aware of different Government schemes as being nearer to people they are in a better position to serve their respective areas by properly identifying and executing the development works and welfare schemes. He exhorted upon the officers to ensure that benefits of various development and welfare schemes reach to the real beneficiaries timely. He directed the concerned officers to create massive awareness about different State and Centrally sponsored schemes and stressed upon the Sarpanchs and Panchs.During the camp, officers of Horticulture department, Social Welfare department, Rural Development Department also made the people aware about various state and centrally sponsored schemes and asked the people to come forward and take benefit of these schemes to improve their economic conditions.
