Asks transporters to provide genuine fair to the load carriers

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today convened a joint meeting of State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) and representatives of private transporters and reviewed Ladakh supplies.In the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner reviewed availability of stock position in Ladakh region. Various issues with regard to transport services for carrying cement and other supplies to Ladakh region was discussed in the meeting.The Divisional Commissioner directed the transport authorities to ensure fixed rates, while carrying the essential commodities to Ladakh region. He also instructed the authorities to provide better transport facilities for Ladakh region. The meeting was attended by Transport Commissioner, Director CA&PD Kashmir, Senior Superintendent of Police Traffic, General Manager SRTC, Superintending Engineer R&B Leh, Assistant Executive Engineer PWD Kargil and representatives of private transporters.

Deputy Commissioners of Leh, Kargil briefed the Divisional Commissioner about the stock position. He was informed that buffer stock has been dumped in various sale centres of Ladakh region during the current season.
