3 militants killed, trooper injured in north Kashmir

Three unidentified militants were killed in an encounter at Bonyar area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday.A police official told Global News Service (GNS) that 5-6 militants who were believed to be infiltrated near Salarpost last night and today morning the group was intercepted by the army’s 8 Sikh Regiment near Chotali village.As the army challenged them, they opened heavy fire, he said, adding that the fire was retaliated ensuing a fierce gunbattle.“Three unknown infiltrators were killed and a soldier was injured during the encounter”, he said, adding that the gunfight is still going on.
