Lal Singh elected president All J&K Wrestling Association

Says, will strive for revival of this traditional game

Minister for Health, Ch Lal Singh has been unanimously elected president of All J&K Wrestling Association.The other members elected to form the new team of office bearers of the sports organization are retired IGP, Farooq Khan, Patron in Chief, MLA R S Pathania , MLC Vobodh Gupta, MLA Raja Manzoor,  former BAJ president- BS Salathia ad Senior Advocate Anand Lehar Patrons,   Indeerjeet Khajuria senior vice president, Prem Choudhary, General Secretary, Treasurer, Rakesh Kahjuria, Vice- Presidents Shiv Sharma (Katra) Prithvi Raj Sharma (Jammu) Rajinder Singh Babbi (Kathua) Rajinder Gupta (Jammu) S P Vijay Sharma (Jammu) D S P Mukesh Kakkar (Poonch) R K Maini (Jammu) Bodh Raj Gupta (Jammu) and Harnam Singh Manhas.Besides these Sanjeev Sharma has been elected as Joint Secretary, Zorwar Singh as Media Advisor and Advisor Selection Committee.While talking to media persons, Lal Singh said that as president of the Wrestling Association, he will work to attract youth towards this traditional game.  He asserted that it was unfortunate to see that the youth are losing interest in wrestling despite it being the traditional game of India."We would organise series of wrestling camps in different parts of J&K including inter-state competitions to revive the dying wrestling tradition in the state and take it to the international level," Lal Singh said.
