Doda administration celebrates launching of Digital India week

The Doda administration celebrated the launching of the Digital India Week by Prime Minister on Wednesday with the participation through webcasting of the event.While speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner, Bhupinder Kumar, highlighted the importance of e-governance saying that the initiative will bring transparency and accountability in the system. He appealed the participants to encourage disposal of public services through e-governance mode with emphasis on enrollment in DigiLocker, where important documents could be stored in digital format.

Later, District Informatics Officer, Shashank Tagotra, briefed the participants about various e-governance schemes under Digital India initiative of Government of India which included  Digital locker system, mygov.in as an online platform to engage citizens in governance through a "Discuss, Do and Disseminate" approach, Swachh Bharat Mission Mobile app to achieve the goals set by this mission, National Scholarship Portal, sanction and disbursal, Digitize India Platform for large-scale digitization of records, Bharat Net program as a high-speed digital highway to connect all gram panchayats of the country,  the world's largest rural broadband project using optical fibre etc.Apart from the importance of e-tendering, Digital Signatures, DBT schemes like PAHAL, PFMS for relief distributions were also highlighted in the event.
