One day Seminar on Employment Rural Youth held at Kokernag

One day state seminar on employment awareness for rural youth was today organised by Degree College Larnoo Anantnag in collaboration with J&K State Information Commission and Kokernag Development Authority at Town Hall Kokernag. The seminar was attended by student of Degree Colleges of Vailoo and Kokernag. Inaugural address Chief Information Commissioner G.R .Sofi said that the employed  youth of the rural areas should avail of the benefits of Government sponsored schemes like Udaan and the commission will provide every kind of information with regard to schemes, financial assistance and other facilitates. He said the youth belonging to Kokernag can avail benefits of for setting-up their income generating units under Tourism sector. He said the officers should provide every kind of information either on web site or on notice boards upto the Panchayat level. He said that the mind set belonging to rural should be changed as the world has become a global village by connecting with internet facilities.

He further said that government cannot provide cent percent government jobs to the educated un-employed youth and advised the youth to come forwarded in private sector. Earlier the DDC Anantnag Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone present a key note address to the participants and advised the youth to come forward for generating employment, Agricultural, Horticultural, Fisheries, Floricultural besides in Handicrafts and Handloom sector. He also informed that under District Action Plan of different Banks and other financial institution, the targets of achievements have been fulfilled and the District Administration will ensure additional amount under the District Credit Action Plan. The DDC ensured local youth for every possible assistance from the district administration.The Information Commissioner, Er.  Nazir Ahmad also spoke on the occasion. He said under section 4 of the RTI Act every department is committed to provide every kind of information about various welfare and employment schemes 2to the un-employed youth. He asked the bankers and officers of the department to conduct awareness camps for the un-employed rural youth, so that they are awared about the schemes and assistance. He stressed for establishment of   income generating units particular in Tourism Sector for which Kokernag has a rich potential Development Authority.

Among others Principals Degree Colleges Larnoo/Kokernag, CEO, KDA, District Lead Bank Officer and other officers from Banks and civil administrations.
