DC reviews functioning of sub-divisional administration

Calls for check on encroachment, anti-consumer practices

Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Nisar Ahmed Wani has directed the officers to protect public property and proactively check encroachments on state land.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the officers of different departments to immediately bring to the notice of concerned officers any case of encroachment on public property.The Deputy Commissioner was reviewing the functioning of different departments in Mendhar sub-division.Taking review of developmental projects, the Deputy Commissioner asked the PWD authorities to expedite work on mini secretariat and other ongoing developmental works while PMGSY authorities were directed to speed up ongoing work on all rural links. Highlighting the importance of Swachh Vidayalaya scheme, the DC asked the officers of education department to expedite the completion of toilets being constructed in the schools. Urging for facilitating horticulture production and marketing, Wani instructed the Horticulture department to organize awareness camps across sub-division.

The DC also reviewed the arrangements for the holy month of Ramazan and asked the officers of PHE, PDD for adequate power and water supply and instructed the PDD authorities to avoid unscheduled curtailment. Officers of CA&PD were also asked to ensure availability and timely distribution of ration during the holy month. Asking the Gas Agencies for furnishing details of home delivery, the Deputy Commissioner directed them for home delivery of LPG cylinders without fail. He also directed the sub-divisional administration for conducting regular market checking to curb anti consumer practices.

Meanwhile, several deputations of locals also met the Deputy Commissioner and raised issues ranging from availability of ration, electricity and water supply to improvement in conditions of roads and functioning of schools and health centres.Later, the Deputy Commissioner also inspected CA&PD store at Mendhar and enquired about the stock of undistributed ration and directed the TSO for distribution of stocked ration within two days.
