Bengal's revenue to go up to Rs.44,000 crore: Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday claimed that in her four-year tenure so far, the state's revenue is set to double to Rs.44,000 crore."Our revenue earning increased from Rs.21,000 crore to Rs.44,000 crore in four years. Initially, it was Rs.21,000 crore, then in second year, it was Rs.25,000 crore. Then we earned Rs.40,000 crore and the figure will go up to Rs.44,000 crore this year," said Banerjee whose Trinamool Congress came to power in the state in 2011.

Participating in a live interactive session, she assured that the state's economic health was sound."During the two-day Bengal Global Business Summit in January we had received financial commitment of over Rs.2.4 lakh crore. I happy to tell you that of that, over Rs.91,000 crore is already under process," said Banerjee."We are focussing on e-governance. As per official figures, growth in our state plan expenditure is 311 percent during 2014-15. Growth in physical infrastructure is 330 percent and that of capital expenditure is 601 percent," she claimed."Heavy industry is also coming to Bengal. SAIL is expanding. IISCO has been rejuvenated. We have land map and land bank. We have formulated new policy for IT, industry, MSME. My captains of industries give continuous suggestion to the industry department. I am visiting London soon to attract investments," added Banerjee.
