Prasad conducts extensive South Kashmir tour, inaugurates various buildings

In order to enhance the working and accommodation facilities to its jawans and officers, Jammu and Kashmir Police has been focussing to upgrade the building infrastructure across the State besides other components. The activities have been continuing under the modernization programme of the Organization.This was disclosed by Director General of Police (DGP), Ashok Prasad while commissioning the alternate accommodation at different places in South Kashmir today. He said that among other components, the Organization has strengthened its building infrastructure at various places providing upgraded living and working atmosphere to its personnel. He said the volume of the department has swelled in the recent years and the area of responsibilities have also increased demanding upgrading of the various facilities more-so at the working places.

Prasad, during his visit to the districts of South Kashmir, inaugurated nine new 5-storey buildings at Pulwama, Shopian, Kheribal Mattan,Uranhall Anantnag and Awantipur. He said our aim is to enhance day-to-day functioning of the force and to provide better policing services to the people of the State. “Men in uniform remain always busy in people’s service and it is their prime responsibility to provide efficient service to the citizens”, he asserted.The DGP was briefed about the engineering methods and material used in the construction of these structures. He was informed that with the completion of these buildings, a large number of personnel would be accommodated. He emphasized upon the executing agencies to use latest techniques in the constructions to achieve better results.

The DGP was informed by the senior officers and executing agency that  these structures were completed within a record period of 2 years by the Police Housing Corporation at a cost of Rs.15 crores. He appreciated the works undertaken by the Police Housing Corporation.During his extensive tour of South Kashmir, Mr. Prasad also inspected other construction works presently under executing at various places.Mr. Prasad was accompanied by ADGP (Headquarters), Mr. S. P. Vaid, MD, Police Housing Corporation, Mr. Dilbag Singh, IGP (Kashmir), Mr. A.G. Mir, DIG (SKR), Mr. Vijay Kumar, SE (PHC), Mr. Sudhir Shah, SSP, Anantnag, R. K. Jalla, SsP, Mr. Amit Kumar, Mr. Mumtaz Ahmed and Mr. Abdul Wahid Shah, Executive Engineer (PHC), Mr. Nissar Ahmed Bhat, AEE, (PHC) Mr. Nayeem Ahmed Bakshi and other police officers.
