DC reviews progress of Swach Bharat, Swach Vidyalya

Deputy Commissioner Doda  Bhupinder Kumar today convened a meeting Officers to review the progress made under the Nationwide “Swach Bharat : Swach Vidyalya” campaign in the district.Assistant Commissioner Development Doda, Chief Planning Officer Doda, Chief Education Officer Doda, Zonal Education Officer, Block development Officers, besides officers of Engineering departments also attended the meeting.While reviewing the progress of the  programme, Deputy Commissioner Doda Mr. Kumar expressed serious concern over the slow progress made in the completion of toilets in the schools and directed all the ZEO’s and SSA Engineers to ensure completion of all the toilets by or before 27th of June 2015. XEN PHE Division Doda was directed to ensure that water supply is provided in all the schools of the district within the stipulated time.DC also issued instructions for construction of pre-fabricated toilets where there are land disputes or land is not available.  Mr. Kumar said that school sanitation and hygiene also aims to improve the curriculum and teaching methods while promoting hygiene practices and community ownership of water and sanitation facilities within schools, besides  improves children’s health, school enrollment, attendance and retention and paves the way for new generation of healthy children.
