DC Doda chairs DLRC-cum-DCC meeting

To review the performance of Banks for the quarter ending March 2015 under the Annual Credit Plan 2014-15, a meeting of District Level Review Committee (DLRC), District Consultative Committee (DCC) and Local Advisory Committee for RSETI, was convened today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Doda Mr. Bhupinder Kumar.Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda Mr. Imam Din, Chief Planning Officer Mr. Y.S Katoch, Lead District Manager Mr. N.C Sambyal and other District Officers besides Lead Bank Officer Doda, Bank Managers and other officers attended the meeting.

During the meeting LDM Doda Mr. Sambyal apprised the meeting that under key areas relating to Deposits and Advances a CD Ratio of 29.85% from 28.84% of the last quarter has been achieved by the Banks in the District, he said that during the quarter Deposits and Advances of all the Commercial banks as on 31st of March 2015 stood at Rs. 1222.26 Crores and Rs. 364.89 Crores respectively. DC expressed pleasure over the increasing CD Ratio and enjoined upon the Bankers to make focused approach to increase the CD ratio which is still below the national parameters.

While reviewing the progress of Banks made regarding issuance of  Kissan Credit Cards it was  informed that 32360 cases sponsored by the Agriculture Department Doda for the issuance KCC have been received by the Banks during the quarter against which 16902 cases have been sanctioned while as 14623 cases have been rejected / returned by the banks during the quarter which also includes the pending sponsored cases from the previous quarter.   

DC while reviewing the progress of banks under Pradhan Manrti Jan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY) congratulated all the stakeholders for their continuous efforts by which all the households have been covered under the scheme. It was informed  that 167 camps were organised by different Banks in the District under which  17553 Accounts have been opened in the District under PMJDY under which JK Bank organised 77 camps and opened 11784 Accounts, SBI organised 54 camps and opened 4090 accounts while as PNB organised 13 camps and opened 918 accounts, similarly  EDB organised 14 camps and opened 609 accounts , HDFC Bank organised 02 camps and opened 122  and ICICI Bank organised 02 camps and opened 30 accounts in the District.

Mr. Kumar stress upon the bankers to cover all the households and open maximum accounts under Social security schemes announced by Prime Minister. DDM Nabarad suggested the house that for creating awareness among the people about the social security schemes Financial literacy camps should be encouraged. DC Doda Mr. Bhupinder Kumar underlined the need to make coordinated and collective efforts so that the financial benefits reaches to the poorest of the poor living in the District, he asked the banks to make DRI Advances which are exclusively for the poorest of the poor .He asked the bankers to achieve at least the national Benchmark of 1 % under DRI advances in the District. It was apprised in the meeting that J&K Bank has disbursed an amount of Rs. 91.55 Lakh under DRI.

It was also apprised in the meeting that under Swabhimaan campaign financial inclusion phase-I  51274 Bank Accounts have been opened in Doda District

Various other issues were also discussed in the meeting which include, shifting of JK Bank Branch Dessa to its original location, Beefing up the security in Bank Branches, Conduct of awareness camps, Financial –Inclusion-Monitoring mechanism to evaluate progress, Micro-financing of women self help groups (NABARD), Priority Sector Advances, Agriculture Advances, Weaker Section Advances, NRLM, RRY, PMEGP, SJSRY, JKSES, MSME, SHGs, DIR , DEDS, HANDICRAFT, HANDLOOM, JLGs and women beneficiaries etc. Director RSETI informed that out of 710 entrepreneurs trained so far, 420 entrepreneurs have been settled and are earning their livelihood. The director RSETI also raised the issue of land for RSETI Doda.The DDC enjoined upon all banks and Govt. Depts. to make an earnest endeavor to improve their efficiency so that the common man who is centre of activities of all the concern is benefited under various Govt. sp
