Ch Zulfkar Ali orders immediate discarding of rotten food-grains in Shopian

Minister for CA&PD Department and Tribal Affairs Ch Zulfkar Ali today issued instructions to the CA&PD Department authorities for destroying rotten food-grains lying in CAPD godown Shopian.The directions in this regard were given by the Minister while chairing district officers meeting held here to review the physical and financial achievements registered during last fiscal in district Shopian.The Minister said nobody would be allowed to provide spoiled food-grains to the rationees and asked Director CA&PD Kashmir to ensure destroying of food-grains in the said store within 15 days.Reviewing the stock and supply position of LPG in the area, the Minister directed the Deputy Commissioner to ensure home delivery of LPG cylinders to the consumers. He further instructed that if the concerned gas agencies are not providing LPG cylinders to the consumers at their doorsteps, stern action should be taken against the defaulters. Stressing the need for making optimum and judicious use of funds, the Minister asked the concerned officers for evolving effective mechanism to meet set targets within stipulated time   besides he asked them to identify and remove bottlenecks impeding   the timely completion of developmental projects.Taking serious note of alarming droup-out rate of tribal students from schools, the Minister directed the Deputy Commissioner to stop increment of the concerned CEO where drop-out rate will be above 10 percent.

 Zulfkar asked the concerned officers to prepare a comprehensive proposal under tribal sub plan for the construction of multi-facility centre at Dobjian envisaging a provision for all basic facilities.Zulfkar said the Government’s endeavour is to make Mughal Road an all weather road, as the area has tremendous tourism potential which has to be explored fully. He further said the Government also initiates possibilities for construction of tunnel on Mughal road to make this historical road as an alternate highway from Jammu to Srinagar. Zulfkar said an ecotourism project is already underway in the area which after completion would attract large number of leisure as well as adventure and pilgrim tourists to the visit of Poonch and Rajouri district.Legislators of the district besides district officers were present in the meeting.Earlier, DDC gave a power-point presentation of the progress in various developmental activities in the district.
