Priya Sethi attend NCC Yoga day camp

Minister of State for Education, Culture and Information Priya Sethi today inaugurated mass Yoga Camp  at GGM Science CollegeThe Camp was organised by the NCC 2nd Boys Battalion as part of celebrations on the occasion of first International Yoga day.Senior Leader BJP Yudhvir Sethi also present on the occasion.Priya and Yudhvir joined thousands of NCC officers, ranks of the Corps, cadets and students in performing yoga.Over 3000 NCC cadets with 50 Associate NCC officers attended the camp.Prominent among those who were present on the occasion include, Commanding Officer Lt. Col Manisha SRS, Group Commander Jammu Group Brigadier Rajan Jamwal and Govind Sharma.

Appreciating the  efforts of  Prime Minister Narinder Modi in popularizing Yoga at  international level, the Minister that said Yoga being part of Indian culture was practised in the country but the credit to take the age old technique to world stage goes to the Prime Minister.“Declaration of International Yoga day after appeal by Modi Ji at UN General Assembly is yet another contribution of our Prime Minister towards making the world realize the greatness of Indian system of living and healing the body by performing Yog,” she highlighted.

She appreciated the efforts of NCC in organising such a  big event and congratulated the National Cadet Corps for  setting a world record on  the day  by organizing  largest ever demonstration by ‘Men in uniform’ on a single day at different locations in the country.Highlighting the benefits of adopting Yoga in daily life, Yudhvir said the age old tradition of performing yoga as routine not only makes our body physically fit but also helps in achieving mental peace and happiness. He said on the first Yoga day everybody should take a pledge to make Yoga a part of life as a fit Nation would automatically be a strong Nation.“Yoga is not just a physical exercise but is a technique by which we can bring balance in our lives by harnessing our inner energy ,” he added.He said Yoga goes a long way in working for well being of humanity and managing our life style related disorders.
