Ajit Singh Kohar hands over appointment letters to the 93 heirs of deceased employees

Also flags off 6 new PUNBUS buses

Transport Minister, Punjab Ajit Singh Kohar in a simple and impressive function offered compassionate jobs to the heirs of 93 deceased employees of Punjab Roadways. Out of 93, he offered 80 appointment letters for the post of Conductors, 12 for the workshop and one for the post of driver. In the event which was organized in Director State Transport Office, S. Kohar said that the Punjab Government has always put their employees on priority list and a result of which the government has offered these jobs to the heirs of the deceased employees. With the issuing of these job letters, there was happiness and a sigh of relaxation as all the employees always demanded quick action on this issue of granting jobs to the heirs of the deceased employees. While congratulating the heirs of deceased employees he also admires the working  of officers of the Department.

In the beginning, Director State Transport S.Malwinder Singh Jaggi welcomes Transport Minister and apprised the Minister about achievements of the department. He said that under the dynamic guidance of the  Minister, department has achieved a lot, which includes purchase of 305 new buses, appointments to the legal heirs of deceased employees and welfare of employees of Punjab Roadways. Decision will also be taken soon for appointment to the remaining eligible heirs of the deceased employees, added Mr. Jaggi.Apart from this, transport minister also flagged off new 6 PUNBUS Buses. He also informed that the 305 new buses will be added into the fleet of Pun Buses, along with  10 super integral coach AC buses  will also become a part of PUNBUS Buses very soon. " Inclusion of these buses will not only boost the profit of Pun Buses but also aid the Public" he quoted. He concluded the event by saying that in the coming time Punjab Roadways depots will be completely modernized with the investment of Rs.25.92 crores, with the facilities like Integrated Depot Management, purchase of 1800 Electronic Ticket Machines and implementation of  real time passenger information system.  Online reservation system has also been implemented in the buses of Punjab Roadways/ PUNBUS. 

Prominent among others who attended the function were Chief Stores & Purchase Officer S. N.P. Singh, Deputy Director S. S.J.S.Mann, Admn Offficer  Jagdip Singh Gulwati, Mechanical Automobile Engineer S. Iqbal Singh Sandhu and Traffic Manager S. Sukhdeep Singh. Different representatives of the workers unions of Punjab Roadways, heirs of the deceased who have been offered jobs and their relatives/ friends also attended the function.Shri Labh Singh, President Punjab Transport Staff Association and other representatives of the workers unions thanked  the Transport Minister.
