The Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh Tuesday ridiculed the reports that GoI has rejected JK government’s plea over the return of the power projects, saying the state dispensation would continue with its efforts over bringing back the power projects.Talking to KNS, Nirmal Singh said that during the meeting that took place in New Delhi between the state and the federal government on Monday over the return of the power projects from NHPC was cordial and that the modalities related to the issue were discussed at threadbare. “There was neither any Yes nor any No during the meeting but aimed at discussing the modalities related to the issue,” deputy chief minister told KNS.

He maintained that the state government would continue with its efforts of bringing back the power projects from the NHPC particularly URI-I and Dulhasti. “There is a wrong interpretation being given to the issue. Central government didn’t reject any of the state government’s proposals. Talks are going on and breakthrough is expected once the meeting reaches the conclusion,” Nirmal Singh stated. He added that return of the power projects to JK is included in the agenda of alliance and that the state government would leave no stone unturned to present its case before GoI.Commenting over the relief and rehabilitation package announced by union ministry to JK, Singh maintained that the process shall continue and the package is the part of the process. “It is indeed a welcome step. Houses could be reco9nstructed and affected areas could be put back on gear,” he remarked.
