Priya Sethi calls on Governor

Priya Sethi, Minister of State for Information, Education and Culture, called on N.N. Vohra, Governor, here at the Raj Bhavan today.Ms. Sethi briefed the Governor about the various steps which are being initiated for improving the obtaining infrastructure and efficient utilization of the available resources in the departments for which she is responsible. The Governor discussed with Ms. Sethi the pressing concerns about the educational scenario in the State and the measures which require to be urgently enforced to strengthen and enhance the standards of teaching and research in the education sector. Ms. Sethi informed the Governor about the need to ensure that the two year BEd course was equally implemented in both the Jammu and Kashmir regions as, otherwise, avoidable academic irregularities would arise, to the disadvantage of those who did a one year course. The Governor assured the Minister that both the Universities would duly implement the revised curricula.The Governor wished Ms. Sethi high success in all her endeavours.
