DC Shopian visits DH, directs to accelerate pace of construction work

The District Development Commissioner, Shopian Bashir Ahmad Bhat today visited under-construction District Hospital (DH) Shopian and took stock of the pace of construction work on the project.The 100-bedded District Hospital is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 23.65 crore by the J&K Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC). The DDC directed the executing agency to accelerate the pace of construction work on the project for ensuring its timely completion for the convenience of the people.The DDC was apprised that the slab work on three storey complex has been completed, while as other work on the project is going-on in full swing and Rs. 6 crore has been expended so far.Later, the DDC visited Sub-District Hospital Shopian. He went round various sections and wards of the hospital. He interacted with the patients and their attendants and enquired about the medicare facilities being provided to them in the hospital. He directed Medical Superintendent (MS) of the hospital for ensuring proper sanitation and maintaining hygienic environ in and around the hospital complex.Responding to the demand of locals for deployment of two doctors for night duties, the DDC directed the MS for making the arrangement on internal basis for the convenience of the patients.
