Be prepared with contingency plan: Dy CM to administration

Directing civil and police administration to be fully geared up for dealing with any eventuality, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand said in view of the recent firing on International Border in Pargwal and R.S. Pura sectors administration should be ready with contingency plan and all out efforts should be made to provide required aid to those injured in the inclement firing on border.He directed the concerned civil and police officers to be stationed in their areas and maintain close liaison with BSF and Army so as to build confidence among the villagers and to promptly attend any untoward incident in the area.He said this while addressing a public meeting convened in Pargwal village to listen to the problems faced by border inhabitants. Besides senior civil and police officers the meeting was attended by Sarpanch, Panchs and prominent people of the area.

Responding to the problems projected by the people, Tara Chand issued directions for ensuring round the clock availability of Doctors, Paramedical staff in the health centre as well setting up a mobile veterinary unit. He said local people as well as police should maintain close liaison and SSP should personally supervise police establishments for prompt action during any possible event.He said required funds under CDF have already been released to purchase three new boats for the area and same should be expedited so that an alternate mode of connectivity is ensured.

Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister after arriving from Delhi drove straight way to the Government Medical College and inquired about the health of those injured in yesterday’s firing incident.He was informed that five people including three children and two women have sustained bullet injuries in the firing.Tara Chand also chaired a high level review meeting at his residence and took a detailed assessment of the prevailing situation in wake of the cross border firing incidents.

pisional Commissioner, Jammu Mr. Shantmanu, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Mr. Ajeet Kumar Sahu, SSP Mr. Atul Goel attended the meeting and briefed the Deputy Chief Minister about various arrangements put in place to attend the needs of those affected on the border.
