DDC Shopian inaugurates awareness programme

The importance of District Credit Plan for overall development has achieved a tremendous scope and the District Credit Plan is contributing a lot to augment the various programmes of the Government and helping the general public in running their business and other commercial activities by providing soft loans to the various classes of clients.Having regard of the potential of the District Credit Plan towards the overall development of the District, the District Development Commissioner, Shopian today inaugurated a day long awareness programme of various programmes and components covered by the District Credit Plan. The participants in addition of general public of the district Shopian included the various District and Sectoral Heads of the departments operating in District Shopian.

The DDC while inaugurating the Awareness Programme appreciated the achievements by Banks in achieving 100% target under Prime Ministers Jan Dan Yojna (PMJDY) and also showed his satisfaction over the CD Ratio of 146% achieved by J&K Bank extending loan facility of Rs. 600 Crores which comprises of 90% Credit to Agriculture and private sectors alone. The programmes sponsored by NABARD were also highlighted during the Awareness Programme through Power Point Presentations and detailed discussions.The participants including Fruit Growers Association, Trade Federation of Shopian and other respectable of the District appreciated the efforts of the District Administration of imparting the knowledge about the various programmes covered under District Credit Plan to the Gross Root Level.
