Ramadan arrangements reviewed at Kulgam

DDC stresses on availability of essentials

The arrangements for ensuing holy month of Ramadan were today reviewed in a meeting chaired by DDC Kulgam R.K.Bhat.The meeting was attend by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sub Divisional Magistrates,  Superintending Engineers of  R&B, PDD and I&FC, Assistant Director CA&PD, ARTO, Additional Superintendent of Police, Executive Officers of all Municipalities, Tehsildars and other concerned officers. The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the concerned departments to make sure the availability of adequate stock of ration, atta, sugar-at all sale centers of district besides ensuring supply of gas and Kerosene to the consumers. He also directed the power Development department and PHE to ensure uninterrupted electricity and water supply to the people especially during Sehri and Iftar timings

Deputy Commissioner directed the CA&PD, Metrology and food safety departments to intensify the market checking in the district and ensure availability of good quality of food items. Deputy Commissioner stressed for ensuring market checking on routine basis to put a check on unlawful profiteering.The Municipal authorities were instructed to maintain cleanliness and sanitation around towns and important Dargahs and mosques.Deputy Commissioner directed R&B officers to complete the patch work of the roads. Concerned officers were also directed to make the street lights functional before commencement of holy month. ARTO was instructed to ensure the availability of adequate transport till late evening and during sacred days of the month. District Animal Husbandry Officer was instructed to make available the poultry birds on concessional rates during the Holy month
