Ramzan arrangements reviewed at Anantnag

DDC stresses for availability of essentials

The arrangements for ensuing holy month of Ramzan were reviewed today in a meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner Anantnag Mr. Bashir Ahmad Khan. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sub Divisional Magistrates, Superintending Engineers of  R&B, PDD & I&FC, Assistant Director CA&PD, ARTO, Additional Superintendent of Police, Executive officers of all Municipalities, Tehsildars and other concerned officers.The preparations made for ensuring the uninterrupted power and water supply besides better road connectivity were reviewed during the meeting.

The District Development Commissioner stressed upon the concerned departments to make sure the availability of adequate stock of ration, atta and sugar at all sale centers of district besides ensuring supply of gas and Kerosene to the consumers. He also directed the Power Development department and PHE to ensure uninterrupted electricity and water supply to the people especially during Sehri and Iftar timings.District Development Commissioner directed the CA&PD, Metrology and Food Safety departments to intensify the market checking in the district and ensure availability of good quality of food items including meat so that prices would be controlled. He stressed for ensuring market checking on routine basis to put a check on unlawful profiteering.The Municipal authorities were instructed to maintain cleanliness and sanitation around towns, important Dargahs and mosques.

District Development Commissioner directed R&B officers to complete the patch work of the roads besides installing the procured gen sets in the identified mosques. Concerned officers were also directed to make the faulty street lights functional before commencement of holy month. ARTO was instructed to ensure the availability of adequate transport till late evening and during sacred days of the month. District Animal Husbandry officer was instructed to make available the poultry birds on concessional rates during the holy month. Concerned officers were also instructed to install the lights at Bijbehara & Qazigund immediately.Sub Divisional Magistrates and Tehsildars were instructed to closely monitor the availability of essential commodities beside eatables and to personally monitor the market checking.
