Bahrain revokes citizenship of 56 terror suspects

Bahrain's High Criminal Court on Thursday ordered stripping of citizenship of 56 suspects in connection with a terrorist plot.Head of the terror crimes at the public prosecution Ahmed Al Hamadi in a statement said that four people were acquitted in the case and 56 were found guilty, Xinhua reported.The case involved a total of 61 suspects of which 33 were arrested while others charged in absentia."The accused have been charged sentences ranging from life term to three years in prison," he said.It was reported that the suspects were allegedly part of a terror cell that aimed to target vital facilities including the King Fahd Causeway.Al Hamadi said the court in its verdict ordered nationalities revoked of 56 suspects, adding they have the right to appeal.
